Clovis Casemiro Receives Inaugural LGBTQ+ Award at the Trade Fair

GRAMADO, BRAZIL (5 November 2021)— International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Membership Coordinator for Brazil, Clovis Casemiro, was honored today at long-running tourism show Festuris in the Brazilian resort town of Gramado. This year, the prestigious tourism event expanded on its commitment to LGBTQ+ tourism, which has been a pillar of the exhibition space for more than a decade. Casemiro received their inaugural award for tourism professionals in the LGBTQ+ segment.

"We're incredibly proud of the work Clovis is doing in Brazil, and so honored that Festuris has recognized IGLTA's contributions to LGBTQ+ travel and Clovis's dedication to increasing visibility for our welcoming members throughout the region,” said John Tanzella, IGLTA President/CEO.

Casemiro received a trophy created for the event by local artist Ronan Ribeiro. The 2021 LGBTQ+ space at Festuris, which runs through 7 November, has a Tibetan theme inspired by the Dalai Lama: “Love is the absence of judgment.”

"I have always believed in the potential of the LGBTQ+ space at Festuris as a place for new businesses, increased jobs for our community and new clients for the tourism industry," Casemiro said. "I am very grateful for the tribute and for supporting the voice of LGBTQ+ tourists who seek safe and unique experiences in destinations and companies that are members of IGLTA."
