Event Unites European Leaders to Shape the Future of LGBTQ+ Tourism in the Region

BARCELONA, Spain (29 June 2023)—The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Foundation is thrilled to announce its upcoming virtual Leadership Think Tank on LGBTQ+ tourism in Europe. This Think Tank is presented by Simpleview with support from Google and will take place on 30 June. The virtual event aims to provide valuable insights into the current landscape of LGBTQ+ tourism in Europe and the ongoing efforts to overcome challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in the region. A comprehensive report summarizing the key takeaways from the Think Tank will be shared with the public.

The co-moderators are Fabrice Houdart (he/him), Executive Director for the Association of LGBTQ+ Corporate Directors, and Núria Abellan Calvet (she/her), who is a professor at The CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy, the only university to offer an LGBTQ+ tourism master’s degree. The participants of the Think Tank represent a diverse and passionate group of professionals dedicated to creating a more inclusive and equitable tourism landscape. A full list of the participants and their bios can be found here.

"As we witness the changing social and political climates in Europe—and around the world—it becomes even more important to unite and advocate for inclusive travel experiences that uphold the rights and dignity of LGBTQ+ individuals," said IGLTA President/CEO John Tanzella. "This Think Tank provides a crucial forum for leaders to discuss and shape the future of LGBTQ+ travel in Europe."
