Reveillon in Rio - 2018-2019

Rio de Janeiro is one of the best places in the world to celebrate New Year´s Eve. At midnight, a spectacular 20 minute fireworks display will blast out the old year and welcomes the new year. The amazing Copacabana fireworks are just the start of an all night lasting New Year party in Rio de Janeiro. While bottles of champagne are sprayed and shared with complete strangers, many of the over a million people at Copacabana head for the New Year parties along the 4km of beaches between Leme and the Copacabana Fortress. You will notice everyone is dressed in white with some red accessories, signifying both good luck and romance. You are advised to do the same if you do not want to stand out.

Carnaval - Rio de Janeiro - March 2019

Rio Carnival has become world-famous through the Samba Parade, a show, a display and competition of the Rio samba schools. The two major days are Carnival Sunday and Monday (March 3rd and 4th). The second best option is the Champions´ Parade on Saturday, March 9th. The Street Bands of Rio de Janeiro translate the soul of the Carioca: a popular carnival where there is no stage and the stars are the revelers.
