Nearly 700 delegates representing 49 countries and territories gathered at the New York Hilton Midtown 24-27 April for IGLTA’s most successful convention to date.

The IGLTA Foundation is putting finishing touches on Voyage, its signature fundraising event, unfolding at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers on Friday, 26 April. Produced in conjunction with the IGLTA Annual Global Convention, the benefit celebrates and supports a world in which LGBTQ+ travelers feel safe and welcome. This year’s event will include a special presentation of the IGLTAF Humanitarian Award to Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally (Love! Valour! Compassion!, Master Class) and theater producer Tom Kirdahy (Master Class, It's Only a Play).

Although we don't believe that a boycott will make the Sultan of Brunei rethink his actions, we are heartened to see the outpouring of support from our global tourism allies, who share in our shock and anger over this egregious violation of human rights. 

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Foundation announced today that Dougal Mckenzie, Head of Industry, Travel, at Google, and Maria Cuba, Global Diversity Lead for Airbnb’s Experiences platform have been appointed to its board of directors. The Foundation is the philanthropic arm of IGLTA.

The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association Foundation inaugural Leadership Think Tank will unite top executives from LGBTQ+ welcoming destinations around the globe at Google during IGLTA’s 36th Annual Global Convention in New York City this April.
