BOGOTA, Colombia (8 February 2022)—The International LGBTQ+ Travel Association is proud to introduce Antonella Benedetti (she/her) as the newest member of the global staff. She will join the team of VP-Global Partnerships Clark Massad as an Engagement Coordinator, supporting the association's top-level annual partners and convention sponsors.

Benedetti is a recent graduate of Bogotá’s Pontificial Xaverian University where she studied social communication with an emphasis on advertising. In addition to her passion for storytelling in advertising, she also loves tourism and "its ability to make people fall in love with new and different cultures." She is part of a growing Latin American presence in the IGLTA staff, including Global Membership Manager Santiago Aguirre-Montoya (Medellín), Finance Coordinator Eduardo Devia (Bogotá), Clovis Casemiro (São Paulo) and Leandro Aragonez (Rio de Janeiro). Current IGLTA Board Chair Felipe Cardenas co-founded the Colombian LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.

“We are so pleased to add Antonella to the team,” said IGLTA President/CEO John Tanzella. “We know all of our partners will be charmed by her positive energy, and it’s also important to us to continue to strengthen our ties with Latin America, which has grown into such a large and engaged membership segment within our global network. The region has so much to offer LGBTQ+ travelers, from outdoor activities, events and history to wineries and gastronomy, and we want to support their inclusive tourism growth.”

Prior to IGLTA, Benedetti worked in the tourism sector at FONTUR, Colombia's National Tourism Fund, and interned at UNICEF Colombia, where she worked on building corporate alliances.

“There is one word that sums up the thousand different reasons why I am excited to work at IGLTA, and that’s passion,” she says. “Feeling that genuine passion for the work of IGLTA is what excites me the most to give my best every day to build a better world for the community.”
