Bid on travel packages to support LGBTQ+ welcoming tourism globally

Fort Lauderdale, FL (22 September 2020)—The IGLTA Foundation, the charitable organization of the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association, has launched an online auction this week that features more than 30 travel packages contributed by IGLTA members in Europe, Latin America, North America, Africa and Asia. The online event will culminate on 27 September, World Tourism Day, a date dedicated to fostering awareness among the global community on the important social, cultural, political and economic value of tourism.

Funds raised from the auction will support the Foundation's efforts to educate government and industry leaders on the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusive tourism, provide fellowships to young LGBTQ+ travel professionals, and support LGBTQ+ owned businesses in emerging destinations.

Auction packages are valid until September 2021, allowing for fluctuating tourism restrictions and comfort zones for returning to travel. Bids are tax deductible in the United States for U.S. taxpayers.
