Snapshots of LGBTQ+ traveler sentiment include a global overview and five country breakout reports

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (18 June 2020)—Reports from the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association’s recently completed Post Covid-19 Travel Survey are now available for free download at iglta.org/research

IGLTA surveyed members of the LGBTQ+ community to gauge their attitudes toward leisure travel in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. An overview is available for the global results as well as individual reports for the five countries with the largest representation in the survey: the United States, Brazil (in English and Portuguese), France (in English/French), Canada and Mexico (in English/Spanish).

Consistent across all reports was the strong desire to resume travel in 2020 once global timelines and safety protocols are established: Two-thirds (66%) of global LGBTQ+ respondents said they would feel comfortable traveling again for leisure before the end of 2020, with September the most popular choice.

The U.S. survey includes a number of questions that were benchmarked against the data collected by MMGY Travel Intelligence for the U.S. Travel Association during a similar time frame. Results show the higher likelihood of those identifying as LGBTQ+ to resume travel activities in the next six months when compared to travelers at large.
