South Africa beckons to be explored from the addictive city of discovery Cape Town to the region of refined food, art and wine of the Cape Winelands and ending in the wilds of Africa at the prestigious Sabi Sands Game Reserve, for a Big Five game viewing experience. You will spend three nights at the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction, two nights at Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa and two nights at Lukimbi Lodge.
Day 1 - 3
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met by a representative and be road transferred to the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction where you will spend three nights.
Close to all of Cape Town’s major attractions and destinations, the Protea Hotel Victoria Junction is located on the fringe of the V&A Waterfront. Designed to offer a contemporary urban feel, the decor is clean and modern and the rooms comfortably appointed. In-house dining facilities are fantastic with the trend-setting Connexion Restaurant and Bar offering an extensive wine-by-the-glass list and the menu a diverse array of culinary options. Other facilities on offer from the hotel include access to the designer swimming pool, concierge assistance, business facilities and 18-hour room service. There is a spa and gym within close proximity to the hotel.
Day 4 - 5
After breakfast, you will be road transferred to Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa in Franschhoek where you will spend the next two nights.
Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa envelops you in Cape Winelands luxury in the most beautiful vineyard settings. The style of the hotel is classic Cape Dutch architecture with thatched roofs. Surrounded by mountains, the hotel is close to the town of Franschhoek, with its art galleries, coffee shops and unsurpassed cuisine options. The hotel itself has a restaurant, the Orchard Restaurant, which is essentially an exquisitely crafted glass house that showcases the beauty of the surrounds while serving summer salmon or beef fillet amongst other delicious menu items. The spa of Le Franschhoek is set in the garden in the midst of ancient oak trees and is the perfect way to rejuvenate mind, body and soul.
On your fifth day, you will enjoy a trip on the Franschhoek Wine Tram. The Franschhoek Wine Tram is one of the most unique and exciting ways to sip your way through the Cape Winelands. This is a hop-on hop-off tour and showcases beautiful vineyards, mountain scenery and distinguished wine estates. The tram is an open side tram and is modelled after the Brill Trams of the 1890’s and is used on the tracks that were originally built to serve as an alternative to ox drawn carts for farmers wanting to get their produce to markets. Once you’ve hopped on, there is a narrative that focuses on the history of the region and its contribution to the wine industry and you will hop off at various wine estates in intervals of one hour.
Day 6 – 7
After breakfast, you will be transferred from Le Franschhoek Hotel & Spa to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) (flight for own account). On arrival at KMIA you will be road transferred to Lukimbi Safari Lodge.
Lukimbi is a luxury safari lodge in the south of the one of the most iconic game parks on earth, the Kruger National Park, home to majestic African beasts. The lodge has been decorated and furnished with African style flair with every detail having been seen too even down to the fireplace with creatively engraved animals. The lodge has a lounge that overlooks the Lwakahle River where a myriad of African wildlife come down to drink. The bar has an award-winning wine list and cellar and there is a library to sit and enjoy leisure hours when you aren’t bush trekking in search of the Big Five.
After breakfast, you will be road transferred from Lukimbi Safari Lodge back to KMIA for your onward travel arrangements.
