This year, as global tourism slowly returns, it’s fitting that our Voyage event will be held inside a one-of-a-kind museum celebrating travel. Voyage is the annual fundraiser for the IGLTA Foundation (IGLTAF), our association’s 501(c)3 charity subsidiary. The festive evening is a hallmark of our IGLTA Convention, and on 10 September, Voyage will fly higher than ever at the Delta Flight Museum.

IGLTA at its core is about forming long-standing connections—between travelers and destinations, businesses and ideas, and LGBTQ+ communities around the world. Our annual IGLTA Convention is key to that mission, inviting in-person connections for four days, this year in the great city of Atlanta.

Among so many convention networking opportunities, Voyage is a special occasion to both socialize and contribute to our non-profit foundation. IGLTAF supports businesses in emerging destinations for LGBTQ+ tourism; funds and shares research about our travel community; collaborates with governments and industry leaders; and grants fellowships to students and small-business owners, particularly in destinations lacking LGBTQ+ tourism support and/or with anti-LGBTQ+ governments.

Voyage entry starts at US$100, with 100 percent of proceeds going directly to the foundation, and the top-tier tickets include an exclusive look inside the museum’s vintage DC-3. All tickets include Delta Flight Museum admission, entertainment, open bar and heavy hors d’oeuvres, plus roundtrip transportation from the Hotel Midtown. Not to mention the chance to mingle with amazing LGBTQ+ travel professionals, all while learning about the history of aviation and Delta Air Lines—now approaching its centennial in 2025.

Feeling lucky? Subscribe to IGLTA news and LGBTQ+ travel info by Friday, 27 August, and you’re automatically entered to win two free Voyage tickets.

Voyage ticket holders also are automatically entered to win fantastic raffle prizes, including a one-year Connect membership compliments of Wheels Up private-jet charter company; a pair of round-trip air tickets each from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, LATAM Airlines, AeroMexico, and Virgin Atlantic Airways; and a grand prize travel package (air/hotel) for two to Puerto Rico.

We couldn’t make this Voyage without the generosity of our incredible sponsors, including Discover Puerto Rico, and our hosts Delta Air Lines, the Atlanta CVB and the ATL Airport District CVB, with support from Visit West Hollywood and Away.

Of course, 2021 is a very different year. Globally, COVID remains a serious concern, even though vaccines have helped many travel businesses begin to see the light at the end of the pandemic’s dark tunnel. For the sake of everyone’s safety and comfort, our entire convention and Voyage event will adhere to strict COVID protocols outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with our added policies:

  • IGLTA will require proof of full vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of check-in at the convention in order to collect your badge.
  • Masks will be required at all IGLTA events, regardless of vaccination status, and should only be removed for eating and drinking. We’ll have free masks available for attendees at the registration desk. Read the entire list of protocols here.

We couldn’t be more thrilled to gather with colleagues and friends next month. Atlanta is a proud host city with many historic sites and unforgettable cultural institutions to explore. At our convention, you’ll find inspiration with our expert panels, business roundtables, opening and closing receptions, the buyer/supplier marketplace, and other networking forums. We can’t wait to see you there!

It’s not too late to join the 37th annual IGLTA Convention in Atlanta, 8-11 September 2021. Register here!
