Paris is one of the most popular European destinations worldwide. Romantic and glamorous, the quintessential City of Light is constantly renewing itself and always on the move. While maintaining its celebrated charm, it now hosts world class events with plenty to offer LGBTQ+ audiences. While waiting to host the 2024 Olympics, the city welcomes Paris2018, the 10th edition of the Gay Games this summer. It's an opportunity to attend or take part in an exceptional competition focused on respect and solidarity.
If you were to name one district in Paris that is particularly popular with the LGBTQ+ community, it would have to be the Marais. Most of the French capital’s gay-friendly venues are located in this neighborhood between Place de la Bastille, Place de la République and Hôtel de Ville. A whole range of bars, boutiques and clubs have opened over the past 30 years, turning this district into an authentic, yet trendy little village drawing a disparate crowd of visitors.
The Marais is also known to be a cultural hotspot. It has some of the top museums in Paris and several art galleries have set up shop, making the district a cornerstone of the art scene in the city. And every year, towards the end of June, the Marais is the place where people come together to party during one of the most festive occasions in Paris – the Gay Pride parade.
Also located in the Marais, LE BHV MARAIS proudly stands among some of the capital’s most iconic tourist attractions such as the Louvre, Notre-Dame or the Centre Georges Pompidou, just to name a few. Founded in 1856, it has kept its unique Parisian feel through the years, today housing over 2,000 brands. The store also produces pop-ups stores, providing new designers and brands a chance to be in the spotlight.
LE BHV MARAIS is proud to support Paris2018, the Gay Games 10 by hosting a pop-up store featuring the Paris2018 Limited Edition t-shirt designed by French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier. The t-shirt will be on sale exclusively at LE BHV MARAIS from 27 July to 4 August. The pop-up store will remain open until 12 August, offering a selection of Paris2018-branded clothing and accessories, including Teddy coats, Panama hats, caps, mugs and sunglasses.
Just across the street from the flagship store, step into the world of LE BHV MARAIS L’HOMME and its five floors entirely devoted to men’s fashion. In the interior patio, be sure and visit the Parisian Omnivore District, a delightful Parisian food court featuring stands offering a wide variety of snacks and refreshments. To end your experience, discover one of the best views in Paris on the rooftop bar Le Perchoir Marais and enjoy a tasty refreshment surrounded by an unforgettable and unique panorama of the city.
Paris2018, the 10th edition of the Gay Games, will be held in Paris from 4-12 August 2018, bringing together more than 10,000 athletes competing in 36 sports and 14 cultural events. Since 1982, the Gay Games have brought together people from all walks of life, without discrimination, centered around the values of diversity, respect, equality, solidarity and sharing.
