It might be small on a map, but Central America is big on adventure and diversity. From the white-sand beaches and offshore reefs to coffee-scented mountains and gurgling volcanoes, there’s no reason to ever have a dull moment there. Stroll down the cobblestone streets of 16th century colonial towns or wander through the dense jungle in search of Mayan pyramids. But make sure to save time to meet plenty of new people. And then, there’s the Caribbean. With its history built on piracy and sugar, slavery, revolt and colonial identity, the islands are full of wonder, magic and contradiction. Go island hoping, take a dip in waterfalls, explore the culture, cuisine and scenery. And be sure to take lots of photos. Because you’ll want to always remember the things you see.
